I’ve been wanting to do this episode for a while now. I’m a big fan of Ryan Bruce’s “cheapest guitar, cheapest amp” stuff so I thought, why can’t we do studio gear?
Today we’re going to take a look at the cheapest tube compressor that you can get on Amazon and Ebay. It runs about $299. I’m talking about the Art Pro VLA II.
Over the last few years I’ve been invited to several studios in the Los Angelas area that are owned by people I really respect- these guys have some amazing gear (and expensive gear!) but the one thing that I keep seeing is the VLA II! What’s the deal with that? You’ve got gear that’s worths thousands and thousands of dollars… so what’s going on here? What’s this doing in here?
I got the help from Rose Cora Perry from London, Ontario! (Check out Rose’s YouTube Channel Here) She came in and did some vocals, some guitar and a couple other little things to help me demo this Tube Compressor.
Make sure to check out the Art Pro II on Amazon below!
At $299 I think the ART Pro VLA II is an absolute steal! If you’re looking to get your first compressor without breaking the bank, this is definitely where you want to look!
