It’s easy to get discouraged. At times it may seem too late to start, or that everything is working against you. That is simply not true.

A viewer by the name of “Visceral Abomination” wrote in this week asking for tips on how to keep going and not be discouraged. Visceral Abomination is 28, works 12 hour days, 7 days a week and feel’s like they’re wasting away.

Listen, 28 is a good age to start writing cool shit. The trick is to not stop. It’s to do stuff. Not just sit around and complain about it or sit around and think about doing it. You need to actually do it and put the time in!

In my own experience I’ve worked 6 day weeks most of the time and still managed to run a studio on top of that – I was only working 8 hour shifts though!

The trick is don’t lose focus of your end goal. If you enjoy what you’re doing, do it. Good luck dude. And whatever you do, don’t give up!

acoustic drums for metal recording manual

If you’re a drummer, you’re going to find this guide offensive. It never ceases to amaze me how easily big, tough heavy metal drummers get offended….
