Happy Friday!

Let’s jump right in! I got a question about adding acoustic treatment to a room dorm room (or place you don’t own). I touched on this last week- use your closet as a bass trap! It works great! For those of you who missed it, I’ve included those instructions below the video on this page.

I have some exciting news! On October 27th, I’m going to be releasing my first premium Mixing course. I take you through the whole mix, track by track and show you exactly how I break it down and mix everything together. It’s going to have all the multitracks, all my settings, all my Reaper settings, you name it! If you want to support the channel, I definitely recommend picking up a copy of that, especially if you want to hone your mixing skills.

Tip for setting up monitors in a bedroom/temporary dorm.
Position your desk with your back facing the closet. Set up your monitors to point straight back into the closet. Open your closet doors and position your shirts with a bit of air in between. I did this years ago before I had my studio and that room sounded phenomenal.

acoustic drums for metal recording manual

If you’re a drummer, you’re going to find this guide offensive. It never ceases to amaze me how easily big, tough heavy metal drummers get offended….
